Inquirer Editorial Board Endorsements and Podcasts

Before each election, The Inquirer's Editorial Board sits down to talk with the candidates. Topics range from violence to taxes to ethics. This year, the board recorded the following interviews and offered these endorsements:

 General Election Fall 2007

Philadelphia Mayor

Democrat Michael Nutter and Republican Al Taubenberger vie for the top seat in City Hall.

Philadelphia City Council

District 1:
Incumbent Frank DiCicco (D) is being challenged by Michael Seidenberg (R).

District 3:
Incumbent Jannie Blackwell (D) faces off with Keith Hairston Sr. (R). Only Blackwell chose to attend the interview.

District 7:
Maria Quinones Sanchez (D), Gary Grisafi (R), and Luis Peneda (I) are in the race. The interview features Quinones Sanchez and Grisafi.

Primary Election 2007

Each election, The Inquirer Editorial Board holds endorsement interviews with the candidates in major elections. We're offering podcasts, so you can listen in. You can also hear debates among City Council candidates from the first week of May on our Deliberation Days page.

The newspaper has endorsed Michael Nutter in the Democratic mayoral primary.
